Glossary and memory suggestions
Compare terminology alternatives and approved translation memory matches for the selected segment in either editor.
Select a segment in either editor. Segment resources appears in the right panel below Retranslate. The same panel is available for editable PDF paragraphs in the Translation Editor. Protected PDF content remains read-only.
Compare glossary alternatives
Open the Glossary tab
The panel looks for exact source phrases in your own glossaries with the same language pair. Each result names its glossary and shows the source term, target term and notes. Different translations for the same source are flagged for review.
Check the document context
Expand Found in document segments to see occurrences and navigate to them. The list shows up to 30 segment occurrences per term. Save your current edits before navigating to a different page of the Translation Editor.
Preview an alternative
Choose Preview with this term. DeepReference retranslates only the selected segment using that alternative, replacing any conflicting term in the request while retaining other enabled glossary terms. The original translation stays unchanged until you accept. This action requests a new model translation and is subject to normal usage limits.
Review and accept
Review the suggestion above the resource panel. Accept saves it as a draft for further review; Discard leaves your translation unchanged. Choosing an alternative does not edit the glossary or replace terms throughout the document.
A Document glossary snapshot identifies terms stored with the document. It does not prove which terms the model actually used. Library alternatives reflect the current glossary entries. Exact phrase matching is bounded; longer phrases, punctuation variants and inflected forms can require a separate glossary search.
Review translation memory matches
The Translation memory tab shows approved entries for the document language pair, with the memory name and source document where available. TM must be enabled for the document and in your settings, and requires Translator Pro or above. Multiple translations of the same source can appear separately.
- The percentage measures source text similarity. It is not a translation quality or confidence score.
- Expand Compare source wording to inspect differences. Gold marks wording in the current source; blue marks wording in the memory source.
- Number/date differences and changes to common negation words trigger review hints. These checks are not a complete semantic review.
- Preview translation opens a suggestion without changing your target. Accept applies it as a draft; Discard cancels the preview.
- Results respect your minimum match setting and show up to 20 matches from a bounded candidate search. Use concordance for additional searching. Segments longer than 6,000 characters require a shorter concordance search.
Save a terminology choice
Under Glossary in Segment resources, choose Save choice for this segment. The choice belongs to your account and this source segment. It is reused for normal retranslation previews when glossary is enabled, without automatically changing or approving the existing translation. An explicit Preview with this term temporarily takes priority. A saved term prevents exact TM reuse from bypassing that instruction.
Your terminology choice history shows the latest 100 selections and clears, including a snapshot of the entry and library name at that time. These personal preferences are separate from shared project history. Saved choice · Clear removes the preference without deleting its history. Deleted, forbidden, changed or inaccessible entries are not reused; choose a current entry again. Changes to the source segment also invalidate the old choice.
