Share a project for review

Hand over an unfinished review while retaining the document, translations and change history.

Translator Pro, Business and Enterprise customers can share a DOCX or an editable PDF project with another verified DeepReference account. The recipient also needs Translator Pro or higher to open it. Sharing keeps the existing document and review progress.

1

Save and share

Choose Share project in either editor, or choose Open then Share project in Recent documents or All documents. In an editor, pending changes are saved first. Enter the reviewer email and an optional handover message. Choose Review and edit or View and download only. You may set a review deadline and an access expiry in your local timezone. The deadline does not remove access; expiry does. Share again with the same address to update the invitation.

2

Open Shared with me

The invited account finds the project in Shared with me. The link shows the number of unread invitations. Recipients can mark invitations as read; senders do not receive read receipts. A recipient on a lower plan sees a private upgrade message. The sender receives the same response regardless of account membership or plan. Requests to unknown or unverified addresses do not grant access to an account created later; share again after verification.

3

Hand over editing

One session can edit a shared project at a time. Others can read the saved text. Choose Save and release editing when finished, then the next reviewer chooses Start editing. If a session disconnects, its editing access expires automatically.

4

Review history or revoke access

Project history shows who changed the text, review status or comments and when. Restore previous text only while you have editing access and the affected segments have not changed since that history entry. Restored text becomes a draft. The owner can revoke a sharing request.

New AI translations and previews use the reviewer’s word allowance. Editing, approving and downloading do not consume translation words. Personal glossary and TM libraries remain private; reviewers see their own resources and any glossary snapshot already attached to the document.

Sharing requests and unread badges appear inside DeepReference. Email invitation delivery is not currently enabled. Expired and revoked invitations no longer grant access. View-only recipients cannot acquire editing access, change segments or request AI retranslations. They can read the project and download its available completed output. Both editors work on computers and tablets; phones retain the upload and download workflow. PDFs open in the Translation Editor only.
