Getting started
Plans and billing
See the current plan limits, included workflow tools, word-counting rules, billing options, and capacity top-ups.
Every plan uses the same translation model. Plans differ by monthly word and document limits and by the workflow tools included. See the pricing page for current prices; the table below summarizes the main differences.
How word counting works
We count the visible words in your translation results, nothing else. Internal prompting, glossary instructions, retries, and processing overhead are never billed. If a translation returns 200 words, you used 200 words. Usage resets on the monthly allowance date shown in your dashboard. Annual billing still has monthly usage allowances.
What each plan includes
| Plan | Words / month | Documents / month | Included from this plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1,000 | 10 | Text + document translation, tones |
| Starter | 30,000 | 100 | + Glossary, translation tones, Translation editor |
| Freelance | 100,000 | 250 | + Terminology extraction and termbase |
| Pro | 250,000 | 500 | + Translation Memory, Document editor, revision tools, analysis, CAT settings |
| Business | 1,000,000 | Unlimited | + Team seats, comments and review, shared resources, API access |
| Enterprise | Custom | Unlimited | Everything in Business, custom volume and contracts |
New accounts can choose a 30-day Starter or Translator Pro trial without a card. The main trial signup currently starts Translator Pro by default. When the trial ends, the account and its data remain available on the Free plan until you choose a subscription.
The gating is workflow-based, not quality-based: Starter opens the glossary-and-editor workflow, Freelance adds terminology extraction and a termbase, Translator Pro and up get the full CAT workflow (TM, document editor, revision, analysis, CAT settings), and Business/Enterprise add team features and the API.
Billing, invoices, yearly plans
- Plans are monthly or yearly; yearly billing gives you a discount (for example, Freelance is €14.99/month or €149.99/year).
- Invoices are available from your dashboard under Invoices.
- Manage subscription changes from your account billing page. Review the offered price and billing details before confirming, then check your plan and allowance after payment completes.
- Business accounts can add company details to invoices.
Review a subscription change
| Change | When it takes effect |
|---|---|
| Upgrade within monthly or annual billing | After successful payment, a new billing period starts. The full new plan price is reduced by a credit based on the unused proportion of the current subscription word allowance and the paid subscription amount. Bonus words do not increase the credit. |
| Monthly to annual on the same or a higher plan | After successful payment, with a new annual billing period. The unused proportion of the current monthly subscription word allowance is credited against the annual charge, based on the paid subscription amount. Bonus words do not increase the credit. This replaces the time-based credit for this switch. |
| Annual to monthly | At the end of the current annual period, including a move to a higher tier. No immediate charge is made. |
| Downgrade | At renewal. The current plan stays available until the effective date shown in the preview. |
The payment preview shows the amount due now, the effective date, the next base renewal price, and the new monthly word and document allowance. After payment, a fresh allowance period starts. The old included allowance is exchanged for the credit rather than carried forward. Work submitted after confirming the quote consumes the new allowance; bonus credits remain separate. Storage follows the new plan after paid activation.
If your card requires authentication or payment fails, the current allowance remains in place. Billing settings shows the pending change. Complete the existing invoice in Stripe, check its payment status, or cancel the unpaid change. Repeated status checks do not create another charge. An expired or changed preview must be refreshed before confirmation.
Word top-ups
Translator Pro, Business, and Enterprise accounts can arrange one-off packs of 100,000 ($49), 500,000 ($199), or 1,000,000 ($349) words through support. The extra words are added to the current allowance, and the document limit becomes unlimited for that billing period. A top-up does not change the subscription plan.
What changes between plans
The translation model does not change with the plan. Higher tiers add capacity and workflow features such as terminology extraction, Translation Memory, document editing, team administration, and API access.
